Sverre Fehn, Nordic Pavilion, Venice: Voices from the Archives
Description
A comprehensive archival study of Sverre Fehn’s Nordic Pavilion in Venice (1962), authored by Mari Lending and Erik Langdalen. Published by Pax Forlag / Lars Müller Publishers.
Commissioned the Nordic Pavilion typeface from Scott Vander Zee for this publication, and contributed the essay “Notes on the Lettering”, which closes the book. The text explains the reasoning behind the typeface and explores what happens when the formal qualities found on the pavilion lettering become software. The book also features historic image references that informed the typeface’s Stylistic Sets and Contextual Alternates.
